In a new wave of bans aimed at cracking down on piracy, Nintendo banned accounts of several Switch 2 console owners from September 5, 2026, until the early morning of Sept 7. The targeted users received an error code on their Switch 2 consoles, which restricted their access to Nintendo's online services. Players have now slowly started regaining access to their accounts, which they believe was not possible earlier due to a server error.
